John J. Lerma is a graduate of Brigham Young University (B. S., 1977) and Gonzaga University School of Law (J. D., Cum Laude, 1985) where he graduated with Honors. After graduation he returned to Boise, Idaho and began his legal practice with emphasis in the area of litigation and the defense of insureds and insurers throughout the State of Idaho. In addition, he provides representation to governmental entities within the State of Idaho.
He has been a trial attorney for more than 30 years and participated in more than eighty jury trials throughout the State. Mr. Lerma has received the highest AV Rating for ethical standards and legal ability. This rating is the pinnacle of professional excellence earned through a strenuous peer review process.
Mr. Lerma has lectured and is frequently asked to lecture for the National Business Institute in the area of litigation and personal injury. He has also been a frequent lecturer for several major insurance companies throughout the United States. He has provided training in the area of employment law and sexual harassment on behalf of a worldwide church organization and continues to do so.
Over the years Mr. Lerma has applied his broad legal experience to the areas of commercial, business and estate litigation. In addition he has provided service to clients in the area of Wills, Probate and Estate Planning. He has attended numerous seminars in the latter area in order to better serve his clients. He is a current member of the Business & Corporate Law Section of the Idaho State Bar Association.
